Alfons Maria Mucha (* 24. júl 1860, Ivančice – † 14. júl 1939, Praha) bol český maliar, grafik a návrhár, najvýznamnejšia maliarska osobnosť európskej secesie a jedna z určujúcich osobností českého maliarstva. Secesia poprela a prekonala historizmus a eklekticizmus umeleckých slohov 19. storočia a položila základy pre rozvoj moderného umenia 20. storočia. Hlavná myšlienka secesie je o novom spojení umenia so životom. Poznamenala celý ďalší vývoj modernej kultúry od architektúry po všetky oblasti úžitkového umenia.
